Just outside city limits, this grand royal palace was originally built by Louis XIVin the 17th century. The massive complex includes the famous Hall of Mirrors, King’s and Queen’s chambers, a chapel, and an opera house, with each being more impressive than the last. The palace is not to be outdone by the 2,000 acres of immaculately maintained gardens surrounding it.
